Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch (R-WI) is a former TV journalist who was Scott Walker’s 2010 running mate and along with him she survived the 2012 recall. On September 2, 2010, the 35-year-old Kleefisch had laproscopic surgery to remove a tumor the size of a grapefruit, and on September 14, she won the crowded GOP primary.
Her doctors found the tumor at a stage where the likelihood of a cure is high and the possibility of recurrence is fairly low. She has taken her doctor’s advice to undergo precautionary chemotherapy.
